BLC: Content Management System

Quoin developed a web site and content management system for The Boston Law Collaborative, a multidisciplinary law firm devoted to conflict resolution and collaborative law. The client has used this system to rapidly create an effective and content-rich web site. The site currently contains more than 200 pages of content and 400 digital assets – case studies, forms, statutes, regulations, and other client resources. Boston Law Collaborative has tracked a significant increase in inquiries and new clients since the launch of its site. Many new clients have remarked that they selected the firm because of the amount of useful information that the site provides. Our team built the site using Quoin Web intelligent Publishing System (QWiPS) as a content management platform to provide the features and extensibility needed for the client. QWiPS provides easy-to-use content authoring, site management, user roles, approval workflow, version control, rollback, and other content management features. The core technology is based on XML-XHTML transformation using Apache Cocoon. This pipeline architecture provides superior system integration with external content and data sources. Page delivery is done entirely in cascading style sheets (CSS) and XHTML to enable cross-browser compatibility.

Quoin was responsible for the design and construction of the web site and the content management system. The web site design our team created supports a fluid, user friendly, navigation that emphasizes usability. The content management system itself allows the Boston Law Collaborative to continually update their site with new content and reference material.

Today we continue to provide ongoing support for the site and implement enhancements to further extend the capabilities of the site and the CMS. Our latest update includes the capability for secure file-sharing via a drag-and-drop interface.
