Quoin was founded in 1994 to provide technology consulting and training services. We initially provided training in object-oriented analysis and design, Java, C++, distributed computing, and other technologies. For example, in 1997 - 1999 Quoin taught Java for Sun Microsystems engineers in the Eastern United States. As the Internet emerged as an application development platform, the company focused on application development for web-based systems. We had the opportunity to build applications for outstanding organizations such as Netscape, DTE Energy, Riverton Software, and others. Quoin rapidly established a track record of successful projects. Starting in 2000, Quoin acquired extensive experience in content management systems. We built systems to manage or deliver content for online publishing, student finances, collaboration, and other applications. Our work has encompassed commercial and open source platforms. A Quoin project team built a Java-based delivery system for WashingtonPost.com, which replaced its legacy system, and was in use from 2001 - 2005. The CMS Delivery Engine supported a high-traffic media site, and had no defects in over four years of production use. We continue to focus on CMS and related applications in our work with a range of media, financial services, life sciences, retail, and technology clients. Quoin is managed by its principals Brad Kain, Jean Pierre LeJacq, and Eric Meyer. We participated in the specification of industry standards through the Object Management Group, IETF, W3C, Apache Software Foundation, and other organizations. Quoin has been active in creating and using open source software, including Apache and Debian projects. Members of our technical staff have published in leading trade journals such as Cutter IT Journal and Journal of Object-Oriented Programming. We have also been invited to speak at industry conferences such as OOPSLA and Software Development. |
Quoin was founded by Brad Kain and Jean Pierre LeJacq. In 2004, Eric Meyer became a Partner, in recognition of his tenure and outstanding leadership on development projects. Today, these principals continue to provide management and technical leadership to Quoin. We take pride in our record of on-time, on-budget, and high-quality systems delivered to clients over the last decade. Quoin has established a reputation for innovative engineering and effective project management for our clients. |
