We are currently seeking a Project Manager to join our team supporting continuing projects for a Fortune 50 retail client. We are looking for a bright, early- or mid-career individual with a strong desire to be an effective project manager in an energetic firm. Our development approach is "agile" and makes extensive use of online collaboration. Thus, our teams tend to be small (3 - 10 professionals) and geographically distributed. This limits the need for travel, but increases the need for clear, consistent management of development plans and tasks.
Location
Wilkesboro, NC or Mooresville NC (starting in 2009)
Responsibilities
- Create project estimates and plans
- Manage day-to-day tasks for one or more project teams
- Manage all resource and skills issues related to project delivery
- Communicate project status and risks to the responsible partner and client
- Collaborate with the senior partners on business development
- Support the development of Quoin's processes and tools for project management
- Support technical marketing efforts by writing articles for professional journals and giving conference presentations
Required Skills
- 2-4 years of IT or project management experience
- Entry level candidates must demonstrate superior interest, drive, and understanding of project management
- Experience with agile development practices
- Understanding of CMMI, RUP, or other SDLC models
- Ability to manage client relationships and expectation
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to translate complex business issues into concise requirements
- Ability to work effectively with a distributed team
- Flexible and enthusiastic approach
- Ability to travel up to 20%
- BS/BA required
