Web Application Developer
Position
The Web Application Developer supports the conception, requirements analysis, design, construction, testing, and deployment of online systems. This individual participates in project teams of 3 to 10 technologists under the direction of a technical and project lead. The Web Application Developer builds user-interface and application components in XHTML, XSLT, CSS, and Ajax/Dojo. As a member of a project team, this developer is responsible for building applications that exhibit user-oriented design, ease-of-use, accessibility, and superior performance.
A successful candidate will have strong experience in designing and implementing user-interface components in XHTML, XSLT, CSS, and Ajax/Dojo. In addition, a candidate will have demonstrated skills in building serer-based components in Java, C#, PHP, or other application programming language.
Location
Boston, Research Triangle Park, or Managua, Nicaragua
Required Skills
- 2 or more years experience in XHTML, XSLT, CSS, and Ajax/Dojo
- Practical experience in Java, C#, PHP, or other application programming language
- Motivation to work on teams using agile development practices
- Understanding of source code control and software configuration management
Additional Skills
- Practical knowledge of J2EE or .Net technologies
- Practical knowledge of continuous integration and automated testing
- Practical knowledge of content management or online publishing systems
- Hands-on experience with search engines and search engine optimization
- Hands-on experience with e-commerce tools
Responsibilities
- Design, code, and test user-interface and application components
- Work effectively on project teams using agile development practices
- Acquire new design and implementation skills
- Participate in design and code reviews, and ensure the quality of all project deliverables
- Interaction with clients will require some onsite work
Compensation
- Salary commensurate with experience
